Jobs in Tutoring
Tutoring is one of the best work at home jobs you can imagine. Jobs in tutoring can be done privately, with individuals or in small groups, or you can tutor online.
There are advantages to both private tutoring and online tutoring. Private tutoring involves personal interaction, relationship and trust building, and location is important. A spot which gives peace and quiet and yet has a safe, learning atmosphere works best. You could try the local library, your student’s house, or your own. I find that my kitchen table works best, as it is in a bright, happy location, and the table gives us lots of room to spread out books, papers, etc.
Tutoring jobs online are great for you if you don’t want to commute and would like to work just from your computer. You would need to have a computer, internet, and probably a webcam. Some online tutoring jobs only require computer and phone. You will have to see what is required by the agency you want to work for.
Jobs in tutoring also offer a fairly high level of compensation. You can make good money tutoring. If you want to see what you should charge, start doing some research in your area, and see what people are charging for tutoring. I have seen tutors charge anywhere from $20 to $80 per hour, depending upon where they live and what subjects they tutor. You can also go online and look at tutoring agencies and see what their tutors charge. Sometimes your fees will be set for you and sometimes you can set them yourself. It depends on which agency you decide to work for.
There are usually plentiful jobs in tutoring for math tutors, physics tutors, chemistry tutors, other science tutors, and English tutors. You can also be a writing tutor, helping students specifically with report writing.
Today is a great time to check out all the jobs in tutoring that are available. As a tutor you would enjoy the benefits of making extra money (or making more money), forming relationships, helping someone else, and receiving a high level of job satisfaction. The time to become a tutor is now!
